Postive vs. Negative

What is it that really appeals to me about this image? The first time I made it was back in high school and I gave it away to my Uncle, who loves trees. I loved to give it away, but then I missed it...and now, eight/nine years later, I made a new one, this time a digital version.

Appalachian Overland Adventure: Winter 2007

A three day weekend spent wondering the back"roads" of West Virginia. For a wedding gift, Mom and Dad took Aaron and Me on one of their AOA's! Mom and Dad are the Trail Guides and their friends, Mike and Nancy, organize fancy lodging and dining for a group of customers. Everyone drives Land Rovers.
On this event, we met up with four other Land Rover enthusiasts in Beckley, WV. My parents were in their Defender 110, we were in their Defender 90, and there was another D90, a Series 110, and a G4 Discovery. Once we met up we went right for the trails, which are very old, unused "county roads".

Within the first ten minutes of the first trail on Friday, Dad laid the Defender 110 on it's side in a "V-ditch". It was great! Mom didn't think so, at least not until later that night when she saw the photos...well, the photo, the only onw she let me take before telling me to go push the vehicle back over!! Right, Mom! The best part, other than all the excitement, was there was no body damage! With a small amount of more excitement we were able to get all of the rest of the vehicles through the ditch.

The next obstacle was some rock steps, really no problems there. The day went on, we ate snacks and had coffee on the trail and continued our venture.
Around dusk, we turned down a dead end road and Aaron and I thought we were entering another trail, but much to our surprise it was the entrance to the bed and breakfast where we were staying. The driveway was more like a trailway, which was perfect for our weekend journey! We stayed in a "house" that had 8+ bedrooms, a kitchen, living area, etc. Aaron and I got to pick our room first :).
Supper was provided at the house and was very delicious. Our group spent some time sharing photos that had been taken during the day and sharing stories of the trails with latecomers.
