A Piggy Update and Fun Times with Carter!!

This is Ruby and she is FINALLY pregnant!!!  (at least I hope :P)  (The strips you can subtly see are just from water...they like me to run water on them when they come up to eat!)

...and this is Opal (she's my favorite sow!) She is about two months pregnant!!!

...and this is Cash...the boar hog!  He is VERY sweet and likes belly rubs whenever he's not eating! ...seriously, he'll come up to you and just plop over on his side and grunt while you rub him!

Here are Ruby and Cash lazing around in the stream by the pond.  This is THE spot to be if your a pig at Ivywest :)  

This is my small herd eating.  Things will be a little different come October...piglets everywhere!!  I'll move the sows to the barn lot when they are close to farrowing and they'll stay with their piglets (they each have 8-12!!) until they're weaned...6-8 weeks.

Meet Scout!!  We adopted him from the SPCA.  He is an American Cattle Dog Mix!  ..so at some point he should be able to be taught to help out on the farm.

It's amazing how all the sudden Carter is figuring so many things out!  Here he is showing off how he can put the piece on the stick...

TADA!!  Mission accomplished.

Bath time... 

Carter loves to hang out under this table on the step stool!  He sits on it like it's a desk.  What a silly boy!

This is pretty much the only hat Carter will keep on!   My little cowboy!

A little photo shoot..  this used to be a lot easier...before he could move around so fast!!

This little tractor is probably Carter's favorite toy....he's started trying to use it as a stool, which I've tried explaining to him isn't a good idea!!...but I reckon he'll figure it out (hopefully with no bruises!)

He actually plays the piano most of the time...and doesn't just bang it.

First real haircut!!!  He did GREAT!

Carter is multi-tasking :) Book in one hand, keys in his mouth, and a toy in the other hand!  

Munchin on an avocado! ...like it's an apple!
