Carter's 9.5 Months old!...and pigs, of course:

Carter's CeCe feeding him a gingerbread cookie his Great Granny Boggs made.
.....Grannies and sweets!

Yay!!  Pigs on pasture!!
We put up electric fencing in our pastures so we can rotate the pigs
through them.  It is SO SO fun to look out and see pigs grazing...
and rooting...in the fields.  They are loving their new area!

Carter checking out his piggies from the window!

Carter sleeping on the way home from Farmville
where we got some rugs and a light.  The photo
is cute, but you should have seen him in real life
...even cuter!  :)

Carter and his cousin Ayda playing in the yard!  ...actually
although Ayda loves Carter she didn't want to get any closer
to him because he "would slobber on her"!

Sharing a stick :)

Callum playing with Ayda.

Tuckered out after all that sunshine and fresh air!

Clean chicken coop...check.

Anyone want to buy eggs?!  I have dozens!!!

I dumped 15+ tractor bucket loads of topsoil
and then the litter from the chicken house and
some of the compost we've collected to create a
new garden area for corn and soybeans!

4 varieties of tomatoes and 3 varieties of peppers started.  I'll
plant the rest directly in the garden.

This is Pearl the piglet :)  I am keeping her to breed because
she is SO cute...and has all the other important characteristics!

Big pigs checking out the small pigs!

This is Ruby and she is (hopefully) pregnant!!!!  We took her
to her to visit her boyfriend last week :)  June piglets :) :)

Pigs being pigs.  They are so funny.

Carter has just started to pull up on everything!

What a big boy!

Dear Carter,  You are only 9.5 months old.  Please
feel free to wait to walk for a few more months.
Love- Momma ;)

Around About February:

Carter and his cousin Rick at Granny and Grandpaw's.

"Wake up and play with me Rick!"

Carter goes to work on his Great Granny Boggs' walker wheel!

Carter playing with Lady and his Uncle Callum on a spring-like February day.

Carter checks out Lady's teeth!  Poor Lady :)

Friends.

Friends....or so I thought...a few days later Daisy
decided to have chicken for an afternoon snack.

Who will get to the toy first?!  This is Fiona...my only chicken
with a name.  She is an Americauna and she lays green eggs.

Carter loves this little toy.  Aaron and I both had one when we
were little...this one is Aaron's, but he lets Carter play
with it when he's at work :)

"Ummm...let me see what this tastes like!"

Carter with his newly cut hair....I "feathered" it a little better after
this photo was taken!

Carter's eight months old! ...he asked for piglets :P

ah...those eyes!

Carter is "sitting" in a handmade chair that was given to his
Great Grandpaw Boggs  when he was 2 years old!
...apparently there is a photo of me sitting in the same
chair when I was a baby.

Carhartt poster boys!  Carter and his
Uncle Callum out working.

Mommy and Carter working.... ever since Carter was a  little baby
I've been putting him in the "sleepy wrap" and  doing things on the tractor
....he used to fall asleep to the bounciness...now he tries to drive!

Carter hangs out with neighbor, Mr. Ball.

Callum gives the cows some love.

Meet Ruby!! ..and her seven piglets :)  They're the newest addition to Ivywest Farm!  YAY!!
Awww!  They are three weeks old!  They weigh about five pounds!  ...compare to Momma Ruby's 250lbs!!
They had me from oink :o)

My Favorite Little Boy :)

Carter has cut both of his front bottom teeth!  He likes to chew on his giraffe more than ever!
He loves the pillow his Great Granny Boggs made for him for Christmas this year!

Hehe!  Carter is watching his Uncle Callum cut up a tree and blowing air around his tongue...maybe imitating the chainsaw noise?!

What a cutie in his Carhartts and flannel :P

What a cute stuffed animal!

A Farm Update:

We finished the new electric fence to contain the pigs in their pen!   It is fun to watch them run around and root up the ground!  I can't believe they're able to root up the frozen ground, but they manage!

We added on to the chicken run attached to the permanent coop and we added most of the young chicken to the chickens that already lived here.  The young chicken seen here are about 4 months old now!  These are buff orpingtons.

When you order chicks from Murray McMurray they throw in a "wild and exotic" chick for free.  This is mine!  It looks like she's wearing pants :)

Callum heads to the barn to perform his favorite chore...mucking!  He's become the farm manager and is doing a great job!

The chicken tractor in action!

Isn't she pretty :)  She's not ours but she lives on our farm.  We are working on getting a milk cow though!!!

Compost!

Callum working on the last stall the pigs were in before we turned them out.....getting them from here to their pen (20 feet away) was a chore!!
The Mechums river.  View from the barn.

View of the greenhouse and garden from the barn.  I always start itching to get back in the garden around this time of year!  We're making plans!

Lady, left, and Daisy, right, acting like they don't know how to get in the paddock when the gate's closed.

Carter's New Cousin, Rick!

Carter checking out his cousin!

I think Carter's thinking about sharing his giraffe with Little Rick :) ...He's looking at his Aunt Vicki to see if she thinks he should share.
